No, and it usually helps. The tribunal clock runs from the dismissal, not from the appeal outcome: three months less one day from the effective date of termination, and you must notify Acas for early conciliation before you can claim, which pauses the clock. Start conciliation while the appeal is still running rather than waiting for its outcome. A failure to offer or hear an appeal is itself evidence of an unfair process, and a tribunal may increase compensation by up to 25 % where the employer unreasonably failed to follow the Acas Code.
