What survives the conversion, and what does not
Running text converts well. Multi-column layouts, tables spanning several pages, forms and designed pages do not.
A PDF records where each character sits, not that these two blocks are columns, so the converter has to infer the structure. Expect a clean text document rather than a pixel-perfect copy of the original.

Why does my table come out wrong?
PDFs do not store tables, only lines and text at fixed positions. The converter reconstructs what it can, and a complex table usually needs tidying by hand.
Is my document sent to a server?
